Only small sections are thin particle board, the rest is heavy real wood.My husband is a handyman. I put together one (except for one part of the instructions which includes nailing in the back) and he put in the other. We used drills and it sped it along nicely, as does having a hammer to pound in the wooden pegs.I really like the look, the height, and the storage. There isn’t “tracks” for the drawers, but they do have pegs to make sure they don’t pull all the way out.Most of the bad reviews are from people who had trouble putting it together.
